SKC started as an organization of student leaders in a University in Quezon City. It was founded on August 18, 2013.

SKC was then focused merely on community service & in cultivating members’ civic awareness. As the coalition grows bigger, initially by the participation of youth leaders from other schools in Metro Manila and eventually from various parts of the country, SKC became a national coalition.

By the first quarter of 2015, the coalition started accepting applications for new vacant positions created to complete the national structure.

SKC affiliated to a trade union confederation on March 2014 which technically ended a year after (March 2015). During the duration of the affiliation, the organization participated in various confederation activities involving government offices. From March 2015, SKC Ambassadors and Regional Representatives continuously convene to create better representation for the coalition and strengthening our stand in advancing the youth’s interest and in addressing various societal issues.

SKC has also participated in United Nations and various international activities and campaigns.

SKC National Support Team Office is now hosted by a corporate partner in Mandaluyong City.
